Bloom Where You Are Planted…

Last Spring I decided to spruce up my yard a bit and plant some new flowers and shrubs.  I bought my plants and cheerfully dug the holes where I would place them in the ground.  Carelessly, I didn’t read the instructions of where or how to plant, I just planted and hoped for the best.  I had envisioned the plants blooming and just being lovely little plants.  Unfortunately, impatience and jumping to the next step before I had even put them in the ground came with a consequence!  They lasted a couple of weeks, before several of my lovely little plants died.  This year, however, I have decided to go slow and care for my newly planted flowers lovingly and patiently.  We will see how it works out!

How often do we rush impatiently to get to the next step in our day, our week, our life without taking notice of how to nourish ourselves in order to live the most fulfilling life we can live?  Louise Hay’s, whose books I am very fond of (Thanks Leslie!), writes about planting the seeds in fertile soil, watering it, and letting the sun shine on it.  A wonderful metaphor for your own mind.  “The soil you plant in is your subconscious mind.  The seed is the new affirmation.  The whole new experience is in this tiny seed.  You water it with affirmations.  You let the sunshine of positive thoughts beam on it.  You weed the garden by pulling out the negative thoughts that come up.  Then you watch it grow and become your desire in manifestation.”

Trusting Your Abilities

We all get stuck in a rut, waiting and wondering if and when we will reach a goal that seems so out of reach.  Waiting, wondering, and worrying can certainly zap all of our energy and take the focus from our strengths to our short comings.  Whether it’s exercise, diet, relationships, or work…Getting stuck in a rut can keep you from moving forward.  I was driving down the road today thinking those same thoughts.  How will I ever get there?  How will I ever make this dream and goal happen?  My focus slowly transitioned from YES I CAN to I’m not sure that I can.  How often do you feel stuck in a rut, paralyzed by your own self-doubt and fears?  How often do your plans and goals seem impossible?  I am reminded often of  Jeremiah 29:11-13.  “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  I find that it is important to trust not only in our own strengths and abilities, but to also truly believe that we will be led in the right direction!

Thought for the day~ Can you reach for your goals and let go of the outcome?  Can you trust that your hard work and dedication will not go unnoticed, but will give you strength to reach even further toward a life of optimal health and wellness!?

Are You On The Right Track?

To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” ~Anatole France

Planning.  It’s at the heart of what we do on a daily basis.  We plan for the short-term: our workday, what we will have for dinner, our errands.  We plan for the long-term: our summer vacations and our retirement.  We plan a lot (or at least I do)!  How often do we plan for our health?  It’s like anything in life, your health in the short-term and long-term needs a plan.  Health planning allows you to be proactive and focus not only on optimal health today but optimal health tomorrow.  Health Planning doesn’t mean that we will avoid every aliment, but it does ensure that we will have the confidence to make the right decisions for ourselves based on our personal values and goals.  Start today with your Optimal Health Vision and then develop a way to make your vision become a reality in your life!

Thought for the day- When you think about health planning, what comes to mind?  What do you envision as your health plan for today and beyond?
